Guinness Carlton Ashtray

Blue and White coloured Carlton Ware ceramic Guinness advertising pub ashtray. Made of glazed earthenware by Carlton Ware, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, this ashtray was used as a point-of-sale marketing piece in pubs and licensed premises.
 
The item advertises Guinness and measures approximately 9 inches (23 cm) at its widest point (including the handle-part) by 7 inches (17 cm). I would estimate that it dates to the 1970s or 1980s.
